FRUITY OATMEAL BARS

 

 

1 PACKAGE YELLOW CAKE MIX

 

2 ½ CUPS QUICK COOKING OATMEAL

 

¾  CUP MELTED BUTTER

 

1  12 OUNCE JAR (OR 1 ½ c.) JAM

 

1 TABLESPOON WATER

 

 

GREASE A 13X9 PAN  OR LINE WITH ALUMINUM FOIL AND GREASE FOIL

 

STIR TOGETHER CAKE MIX AND OATS.  STIR IN MELTED BUTTER UNTIL

 

MIXTURE IS CRUMBLY.  PRESS ½ (ABOUT 3 CUPS) OF THE CRUMB

 

MIXTURE EVENLY INTO THE PREPARED PAN.  IN A SMALL BOWL

 

 COMBINE THE JAM AND WATER.

 

SPREAD MIXTURE OVER CRUST TO WITHIN ½” OF EDGES . 

 

SPRINKLE REMAINING CRUMB MIXTURE EVENLY OVER TOP.

 

375 DEGREES FOR 20 –25 MINUTES OR TILL BROWN.

 

COOL , THEN CUT.
